what are we thinking? I'm drawn to the kona process 153 as I took one out during last year's wheelbase demo day and it fit like a glove. Looking through my Strava tho, all my riding is trail centres, 150/160 feels like far too much bike to be dragging round the Marin trail etc all day. Current bikes a 26in Giant Trance, with 150mm forks, which serves me perfectly but is showing it's age a little. Thoughts?

Admittedly I own one but..... Jeffsy. 🙂
Intense primer looks sweet now they've gone direct

Why not get the Process 111? The 2017 model can be had for under 2.5k from JE James and the fit should be the same. I've got one and it's great.
If the process was great why not just buy it?! I had one and loved it, pedalled better than everyone made out. I thought I saw the 2016 version in winstanleys for 1700? Leaves a load of change for upgrades/trips!
Scrap that, they must have sold them all! Can only see the 2016 153 dl version now for 2300
I had a 153. Hated it. Sold it after 2 rides. Too long and low
If you're a medium this looks a good deal.
In the true style of stw, recommend what you have and if possible, avoid the original question.
Some places are still listing the mojo hd3 full bike for £3k. I believe it's better suited to UK trail riding that the hd4.
Bird Aeris 120 from £1,962 or Bird Aeris 145 from £2,052.
Both highly customisable from Bird, will also come tubeless. They provide super support and the lifetime warranty on the frames is transferable if you ever wanted to sell it.
The 120 would be great for trail centres and is very capable for a 120mm rear/130mm front travel bike. The 145 can be set to 145mm rear/140mm front travel for trail centres. Then buy the additional £90 new rear linkage and that changes the rear travel to 160mm and the frame will take up to 170mm fork for uplift days etc.
I 2nd the Bird Call.Fantastic support from the guys,Awesome bikes and a lifetime warranty thats transferable
Thought of spending a bit more? The Transition Scout is an incredible bike! I got mine at £2800 last year and didn’t regret paying for it one bit
Airdrop are well worth a look.
Don't have one:

2.6 k GBP
170/170 mm travel
I don't spend so much money on my bikes - but guess hardly possible to get more bike for 2.6 k (if the burn in the pocket...).
Review (think for the 10.0 Version):

The Swoop bikers are such a happy crowd - maybe check this forum for opinions if you like.
I’ve always had used bikes in the past, which of course is still an option, but if I was going for new on a pay monthly type basis I would be going to a local bike shop (leisure lakes, formby cycles, one planet llandegla, etc) so it would have to be a mainstream brand rather than some internet only thing ie Trek, Specialized, Whyte etc rather than YT, Rose, Canyon etc
another for the Bird Aeris. awesome bikes
