After bodging gears on my SS Inbred and hating it, then going back to singlespeed and killing my knees on road sections, I decided to go 1x9. After the first ride I feel like I hit the nail square on the head.
I'm using a 32t Middleburn Uno with an 11-34 XT cassette, and the range of gears seems ok. Just curious what ring and cassette sizes everyone else is using (most 1x9 setups I've seen use a 36t up front).
I've a 2* 9, I run 11-32 at the back and 24/36 up front, but rarely use the granny.
36 chainring with 11/32 cassette on my commuter - spin out regularly downhill tho
Another 36 and 11/32 here.
36/32 on my Pyre and 36/34 on the Bullit.
34 Uno with 11-34
38t front and 12-23 rear on my Flow. Hard (not too hard) on hills, and very quick downhill.
11-32 here with 34t chainring. Old school 1x8 though!
32 tooth ring with a 28/11 slx cassette. It can be hard work up the hills but the plus side is I can run a road mech
I'll be 32 and 11 - 34, but then I'm a bit of a nonce up hills and rarely pedal on the downhills. It's all about the pump. 😉
32 up front with 11-32 cassette
1x8 on a gemini 34 x 11-32.
a massive 44T against 11 to 34, I like my high ratios, but I gonna change to 42 against 11 to 34
