I'm running xt770 cranks, previously as double and bash with chain guard, converting to single ring up front. Had spacer on nds, spacer and bb mounted guide on ds. Should I run one or two spacers on the drive side now, single ring will be going where the middle ring was previously ie preserve the existing chain line?

Thanks.

Spacers as per Shimano's instructions. 2 on DS, 1 NDS assuming a 68mm shell and no BB mounted chain guide. Single ring in the middle ring position should be absolutely fine.

Will you still be using the BB mounted chain guide? This influences the answer.

There is no need to vary from the Shimano Instructions when going 1x10 (follow the M760 diagram not the lower diagrams)

If you are running a bb mounted chain guide, this effectively replaces the 2nd spacer on the ds.
