I'm currently waiting on my 36t ring to arrive ready for my switch to 1x10. Thinking of gearing, what ratio of cassette would give me the best gear options?
Cheers folks
Paul
I run a 36 up front and a 36-11 out back seem to be able to climb most things, ๐
I use 34t front, 11-36 rear - you need 11-36 at the back for a decent spread of gears, I think.
I've been running 36t with a 9 speed 32t caseette.
It does make the steeper/longer hills a bit of a slog but it's certainly better than my SS ๐
11-36, no point in going 10 speed otherwise.
Thanks for the heads-up guys!

What njee said, as you can get an 11-34 or 11-32 in 9spd.
Depends where you ride mostly, you may or may not find a 36T a touch tall. I managed ok for a while with a 36T, but then I went on one truly steep ride and conceded after and fitted a 32T instead. But you may have stronger legs, or ride flatter terrain in general so see how you get on with the 36T first for sure.
