I accidentally ran 180s on a 200 once. Got round Follow the Dog and Llandegla ok. You'll be fine.

180 Hope's on a 185 Juicy worked (ish) but wore pads out at an alarming rate as 1) not all the pad is in contact so that which is works harder, and 2) after a bit you get a step in the pads which means that the bit that is doing the work skims the disk rather than gripping it lowering the braking power and increasing the wear further.

In the end I bit the bullet and took a mortgage out to buy an Avid rotor as I couldn't find a nice cheap aftermarket one.

Because if they will work just fine ill last for a while rather than forking out £24 for seperate adaptors that i may not need

If your thinking of floating rotors, be sure they will clear the mount/caliper...
The mtbdirect rotors work as good as Avids, & work pretty well.

Floating Rotors would not fit my Avid Code 5's, the discs hit the mounts,

Standard Hope sawtooth rotors 183mm on my daughters bike using Hope mounts and Juicy 7's work fine.
