[#1928314]

I need some advice, been thinking about getting a Cube Stereo (140mm) but want it in White and all seem to have sold out in my size.

I have found the Cube Frizz The One in my size, will I notice the difference that much in travel. Anyone have one of these?

I wil be using it as my only bike so want it to do a bit of everything... will the 160mm be to much?

Help!

I'm not so sure about noticing the extra travel, but the slacker geometry may be noticable. I don't have either, I have to admit, but I did a similar move, travelwise, when I swapped from my Titus to the Banshee I have now, and the geometry is far more noticable (in a good way IMO).

I personally think a HA of 67 degrees is about spot-on for a "do it all" bike, and therefore I should think the Fritzz would be fine. I would strongly suggest you test-ride it first though.

Is there much difference in weight?

About 3 lbs, Stereo 28 v's Fritzz 31, could easily make it lighter with some different wheels. Not that its much heavier than the Prophet it will replace.

Probably not going to get a chance to test ride it, the LBS has one but not in my size.

Unless you can find a shop with one in stock in your size you will be very hard pushed to find a Fritzz, there are none in the Cube Distribution centre in Holland, unless you wait for the 2011 version (release date not known at this time)

We did have a Fritzz a little while ago, but it sold pretty quickly, almost the perfect do it all bike.

It largely depends on what you are going to do with it: If you plan on using it for a bit dh, then get the Fritzz - I always think it's better to be over -biked than under-biked. 31lbs is not heavy.

Surely the Stereo would be too much like the Prophet it's replacing, from a use/travel point-of-view. I'd be tempted to go for something a bit different, but that's me ๐Ÿ˜†

This is mine, bog standard except I've now swapped the stem for a shorter one and put a 36 middle and bash on as the BB is low enough to justify it. I've ridden it pretty much everywhere recently and am merrily overbiked in most southern riding spots, but its fun. It climbs well for a big bike (though I am fit enough to never need to get off and push), I've been on it for 5 hr plus rides in the Lake District and Wales and it spins up climbs with loads of grip, front can get a bit wobbly on steeper stuff but you learn to compensate or drop the fork down. Pretty handy DH too with the low BB and slackness making cornering feel very planted. Could lighten it up but the real wheels a x12 axle which limits things a bit, plus bigger travel means you do want tougher wheels to get through all the Gnar you'll be shredding ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Matty B, what size frame is that? I'm 6'3" and looking at getting the 20inch frame.

Its a 20 inch, I'm 6ft2 with a 34 leg. TBH it is a bit of a gate but the reach is good for me for riding all day. I've managed to whip it round some pretty tight trails and switchbacks so not really noticed the longer wheelbase as an issue.

I have a 20" and I'm similar size to matty B. As others have said it's a great handling bike - extremely well made / lot of kit for the money. I did / do find the BB very low however you learn to adapt your riding style and the upside is very stable handling. The wheelbase on the 20" is mahoosive - well into DH bike category.

I've racked up some big days on it (10hrs+) and not found weight to be an issue as it climbs very well. Shock has propedal but the awkward positioning renders this very awkward to use in real world conditions.

Got an ongoing rear triangle issue which the dealer and Cube have been slow to deal with properly(like waiting for 3 weeks til the warranty guy from Cube returns from holiday FFS)Not prepared to write the bike off because of that as Cubes rep seems to be mostly good but it's very annoying...

I have a Fritzz too and it's a great all rounder. It climbs well and flys down the decents!

Hi ended up getting a Stereo, arrived yesterday first ride tonight awesome! Anyone have any info on rear shock pressures? Currently running it at 240 but I think it needs to be a little more.

Heather what's your rear triangle issue, I've heard it could be a problem area?
