Hi all, so today I broke my maxle, specifically the small metal rod tgat holds the qr lever on. So, has anyone used the stealth version yet? Or the Mt zoom thru axle? I fancy a non qr version and these seem to be best options? Cheers, chris

I did it a few weeks ago, and picked up a stealth on ebay from taiwan. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222423316968

It was about the cheapest place I could find, and I had it inside a week

All good so far

Cheers! I'm thinking that with no moving parts it should be bombproof! As long as it isn't over tight

As s side note, is there any reason I can't use it still, but tighten by screwing it in? Or will it just work loose?

I have a maxle stealth (the non qr thing - which I think is the one called the stealth)

Pros it does not have that horrid flimsy end that gets all chewed up.

Cons it can bind in the fork and need a little 'welly' to loosen.

I would only use a proper 6mm Allen key. They are hollow so you could easily lose a 4->6mm Allen key adapter inside it.

I've had mine a month or two. Like it much more than the qr thing

The binding thing could be overcome with a bit of copper grease maybe?
