Been asked what bikes I would suggest around £1500 second hand but not sure what to suggest. The lad is after a trail/enduro bike probs not fussed on wheel size. I think he’s about 5 9”
First thoughts are Meta or Spectral?
Some kind of Mondraker? Foxy, Dune, Crafty would all do a decent job and are around that kind of money.
Isn't there some pretty good new stuff for that sort of money?
Capra, Jeffsy
I just bought a 2017 YT Capra cf pro race for 1700. Hell of a lot of bike for the money.
He could have my 2018 Enduro carbon in the classifieds for not alot more

Some low end stuff, when you're talking 'enduro'. Much better buying second hand, I just sold an immaculate Evil Following MB I spent just shy of £5k on 18 months ago for £2.3k.
Looking at the prices secondhand bikes are fetching on eBay, I'd suggest stretching to a new bike instead.
That new Vitus Escarpe at £2k looks awesome.
Or this Polygon a bit cheaper has good geometry...

I'll not recommend anything but I'd certainly be looking at how easy/cheap bearings are to replace.

That you could actually buy right now? Maybe not that much?
A nice Bird would be had for that cash with the save knowledge your getting handed the full lifetime warranty of frame
