As above really, snapped my Maxle (not sure if it was a light one bit the end was bored out as opposed to a bolt in the end) on Saturday. Lucky for me it wasn't mid-ride and was near home!
I am not to bothered about the weight of the axle as long as it does not snap. Can anyone suggest any other makes?

May be worth looking at Trek/Bontrager, as used on their 12mm ABP rear ends.
Will them axles fit a Orange Alpine?
Found a few axles inline but either the wrong thread, and also a straight through axle that would require the swing arm being drilled and reamed for the axle to fit.
Failing that does anyone know where to buy the old style Maxle? Would even take a punt at a S/H one.
I used to have a solid aluminium one from (I think) BETD. Simple and pretty bombproof.
Still lying around somewhere, I think...
