I have just purchased a trek 2nd districk frame that has 100mm front wheel spacing and 120mm rear
I am looking for a wheelset for general use but all seen to be for track bikes
Any suggestions of a wheelset?

Thats some serious heft @ nearly 2.4kg for that wheelset - but they are cheap!
Look for some track hubs ( 💡 GoldTec) & build with Mavic Open Pro rims?

SJS can do you a wheelset build.
Halo Aerotrack and Aerorage are pretty good for the money (£150) and weigh around 1900 grams.
With a 120mm rear hub you will be looking at wheels labelled as track but they are fine for general purpose use (as long as they have a machined brake surface which most do)

They don't however point out that you are unlikely to receive what you have ordered/paid for.
Only worth using if you are in no rush at all for what you have ordered as you may never get it.

I used a standard QR Road wheel on the front of my fixie till I changed to a disc fork (and now use a pretty standard QR 29er MTB wheel)... So you can use almost any 622 rimed wheel on the front
Having the front QR potentially saves some faff if I were to get a front wheel puncture...
120mm is also a pretty common standard for track/SS/Fixed bikes, I've got a Rigida Rim built on a Cheap hub I bought from Planet X, I keep a 15mm spanner fixed to the frame in case I need to remove the rear wheel for a flat... You can get 120mm QR hubs but they're rarer and in theory more likely to slip under load, handy for punctures though...
I'd look for 'Truebuild' wheels/wheelsets online maybe, they tend to be cheap...

They haven't got the best reputation. I always suspect a shop that has such a large list of obscure stuff for sale. Guessing their model is to order from their supplier when they get an order which can go wrong quite often (see Tredz!)
I've used velodrome shop twice before. Once I emailed beforehand to check, once I didn't. Both times the order arrived the next day, no hassle.
