hi all
Just wondering if you can still buy 1" steerer suspension forks, ie 92 specialized quill stem
stuff like this new, though I'd be tempted to search out an old set of marzocchi MX comps or somethign similar as they are simple enough that there is little to go wrong over the years!
Could try a wanted add on here, or look at retrobike.co.uk
I've a set of Marzocchi mx comp air forks with 1 inch steerer in the shed. 85mm travel. They were on my '94 khs for a bit but that got pinched so I'll never use them. Would you like me to measure the steerer tonight?
If it were a rigid fork you could get one custom made but a sus fork is tricky. I have a 94 frame with an in headtube so know this one well. For years I ran pace forks as they'd special order an inch steerer but once it went to DT I think that all stopped. Now I think you'll be buying either cheap basic ones new OR looking on eBay or retro bike for old school high end forks... Which to be honest is probably about the same thing as the older technology has filtered down over the years.
Perhaps the question for you is, do you want the fork to match the bike ? Retro? Or don't you care? ;-).
The zochi offer might be a good one!
I've got a pair of 93/94 project 2 forks that i want to get rid of. they are 1" threaded steerer. I've also got a 1" salsa steel quill stem to go with them. drop me an email if you are interested mrbedfo at googlemail.com
Ignore my post above! had it in my head we were on about rigid forks! apologies
bedfo... might know a man who'll have those off you. Send me an email and I'll put you in touch... its a guys from a climbing forum looking for some.

Any ideas where? Could be a solution for my fatty fork needs.

in the UK, try dave yates, pretty sure he'd make you some.
Give the guys at Pace a call/email, they still carry all sorts of spares - which included forks with 1" threaded steerers a year or two back.
Thanks heaps for suggestions above.
my pace steerer snapped resulting in a false tooth and about 50 stitches in my head (30 inside my mouth), I personally wouldnt touch them with a barge pole or anything else.
Rose bike still stock a 1" rigid fork. And there are still a few NOS RST's about. But Retrobike will be the best bet.
