Ok any help or advice much appreciated here.
Here is what I plan to do.
My current setup is a 1.5 headtube on my frame with a chris king devolution headset so I can run my 1 1/8 forks.
I plan to change these forks and the ones I am looking at have a tapered steerer.
So I am thinking I can buy a new chris king 1.5 inch crown race for the new forks
(£15 off chain reaction). My top headset cup and stem will stay the same.
I guess the questions I have are:
1. Will the chris king 1.5 crown race seat straight in to my devolution properly. I am hoping the only difference in the standard king 1.5 headset and the devolution is the crown race.
2. Is it a silly idea to use forks with a tapered steerer in a frame with a full 1.5 headtube?
Reason is these forks are cheap else I would buy a new set with full 1.5 steerer.
I can't see any issues running a tapered steerer but if there are let me know.
