Whyte S120 in size Large. Owned from new (paperwork shown in photo), purchased in 2020.
Whyte say: “The S-120 is a perfect replacement for the iconic T129, which gave Whyte its 1st Bike Of The Year award. Designed to be an all-round XC/Trail bike from epic marathons to a flat our blast down your local single track, this bike will allow you to do it all.”
I had a Yeti ASR5 before this and I really think the Whyte is the more capable bike. It’s done local (flat!) rides, Peak District classics, Lake District hikeabike, Bike Park Wales & trail centres and I’ve always been the limiting factor.
The main changes from the stock spec are wheels, upgraded to EX511 on 350 hubs from Fitwheels and G2 RSC brakes as the bike encourages you to push on the descents, far more than the travel suggests it should, and I was dinging a previous set of wheels, but the EX511s have been flawless, and lighter than the stock wheels. I’ve done the Styhead to Stockley Bridge descent with both sets of brakes and the stock Guide Ts were really at their limit but the G2s are great, I’ve never had any brake fade with them.
It is used so there are the usual signs of wear, but just cosmetic. The worst of it is shown in the last photo. Fork, shock and seatpost stanchions and seals are all good, hubs are smooth etc. The brown marking visible on the driveside seatstay is just a piece of heli tape that’s discoloured, I thought it was better to leave it on as frame protection than remove it just because of the colour.
I’m 6ft with longish legs (~34inch inside leg) and the large was a good fit, but I had a fair bit of seatpost out, and room to drop it . According to the Whyte size charts it should be a good fit for riders between 5’10” (178cm) and 6’2” (188cm). Full Geo and Spec below.
I’ll drop off in the Coventry, Warwickshire, Solihull, Rugby areas. Any further than that please message me and we can discuss either travelling further or meeting somewhere convenient. No courier collections or overseas shipping. Cash or Paypal F&F on collection/handover.
