I’m rubbish at XC racing (but I love it!)

Part two of a three part Pirelli Scorpion vlog series, Amanda puts the XC tyres to the test at a midweek XC race at the most brutal location she could find!

Earlier this year Pirelli launched a comprehensive range of MTB tyres to cater from everything from Enduro/DH to lightweight XC race duties. All the tyres in the range have one main thing in common – they are all called Scorpion. Which Scorpion is right for you depends on what you want to do with it and in Benji’s full feature below you can read up on the all the details of the entire Pirelli Scorpion range.

Our in-house pain and discomfort fanatic, Amanda, was given the task of trying out the XC Scorpion tyres, so she powered around her local trails for a week in an attempt to gain enough fitness for a Midweek Madness Race at Lee Quarry trail centre in the South Pennines. Lee Quarry is notorious for its loose shale, sharp rocks and lack of grooming. Find out how she got on.

Amanda is our resident pedaller, who loves the climbs as much as the descents. No genre of biking is turned down, though she is happiest when at the top of a mountain with a wild descent ahead of her. If you ever want a chat about concussion recovery, dealing with a Womb of Doom or how best to fuel an endurance XC race, she's the one to email.
