Issue 147: Last Word: Feel The Love

by 5

Hannah goes head over heels… in a good way. Words: Hannah Doodles: Amanda Was it an instant thunderclap of ‘this is it’, or a slow burn realisation that you were happy and you couldn’t imagine life without it? Did love hit you, or creep up on you? The feeling of giggling like a teenager, sneaking about in the woods. That slight edge of naughtiness and ‘what if we’re caught’ feeling. The pumping of blood and brain chemistry as you try something for the first time. Try this, then that, then the next thing. One thing leads to another. Mountain biking is a lot easier to navigate than love. Eying up...

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

I’m glad I have both in my life, but I reckon mountain biking is cheaper in the long run. 🙂

That last doodle made me chuckle.

    Eying up

    Sounds like a Yorkshire thing.

Love doesn’t last, but MTB is forever.

    “Soapy Kit Wa..”

Have a Golden ST Jolly Token, or whatever it is called.

Never occurred to me until now that STW has more than two meanings.
