Megasack Giveaway Day 13: Goodyear Newton Tyres

by 7

It’s the final week of our daily giveaways. Today, it’s rubber!

Make sure you’ve entered every day’s draw – you’re too late to win the past daily prizes, but you’ll increase your changes of winning the megasack.

We have daily (week day) prizes to be won, plus another of each prize which goes into our Megasack. Each day that you enter, you might win the daily prize. Whoop! But each daily entry also counts as an entry to win the Megasack. Enter every day to maximise your chances of winning the Megasack. Miss out on a daily entry because you don’t think that prize is one you want? You’re losing out on an extra chance to win the Megasack. Even if you’ve missed the daily draw, don’t worry, because you can still go back and enter in order to boost your chances of winning the Megsack.

To enter, you need to be logged in – it’s free to sign up. Once logged in, the entry box will reveal itself with a question. Answer it correctly to submit your entry. Easy peasy! Please note that prizes can only be sent to a UK address. Now that you’re caught up on what’s going on, let’s find out about the first great prize we have for you.

A Pair of Goodyear Newton Tyres

The Goodyear Newton tyres are design to tackle a range of conditions from loose dust to wet loam, and are made with the rowdier side of riding in mind. The MTF goes up front, and the MTR at the rear. The tyre comes in a choice of Trail, Enduro and Downhill – the lucky winners will get to choose which mix of features suits them best:

  • Trail MTF/MTR – 60TPI, trail specific dual 50/60a compound specifically formulated to balance grip, wear and efficiency. Bead to bead cut and puncture protection casing layer.
  • Enduro MTF – 2x120TPI, Grip3S – front specific, triple density 40/42/60a compound, offering the ultimate level of grip and slow rebound properties. EN:Wall – A butyl layer located within the casing ply that provides defence to cut and abrasion as well as providing extra sidewall support.
  • Enduro MTR – 2x120TPI, Grip3S – rear specific, triple density 40/50/60a compound, offering balanced levels of grip and treadwear. EN:Wall – A butyl layer located within the casing ply that provides defence to cut and abrasion as well as providing extra sidewall support.
  • Downhill MTF – 2x60TPI, Grip3S – front specific, triple density 40/42/60a compound, offering the ultimate level of grip and slow rebound properties. DH:Wall: a butyl layer located within the casing ply, providing a high level of sidewall defence.
  • Downhill MTR: Rear specific, triple density 40/50/60a compound, offering balanced levels of grip and treadwear. DH:Wall – a butyl layer located within the casing ply, providing a high level of sidewall defence.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

I’ve got these tyres, really rate them. Considering their chunky nature they roll really nicely, and they’re a bunch cheaper than the equivalent Maxxis.
