The Polaris Aquanought Waterproof hip pack is reviewed as part of our Kit Essentials grouptest from Issue 143 of Singletrack World Price: £47.99Capacity: 3LBladder: NoFrom: Polaris, polaris-bikewear.co.ukColours: Black & GreenIf you’re like me, you’re a middle-aged mountain biker living in the UK who has tried the whole stash-things-on-your-frame Enduro-a-go-go approach to carrying spares. It’s all well and good until you’re halfway into autumn and you go to use your spares only to find that they seized up beyond usefulness. And you have to walk home. Dang. Truth be told, if you’re a committed enough all-weather-any-weather Brit rider, a lot of bumbags aren’t weatherproof enough either. They live right in the line of fire, er… water, from your back tyre. You can’t really safely leave things in most bumbags after some winter rides. Multitools rust. Puncture patches get wetted out. Energy bars go… even more wrong. While the main chamber of this Aquanought pack from Polaris is rather simplistic (partly as a result of having to be made from waterproof material) there is a removable tool organiser included. Honestly though, there’s a lot to be said for the simplicity of a basic main chamber combined with two pockets on the side wings of the pack. There is a basic internal pocket for a phone actually, which comes in handy. Comfy, stable, genuinely waterproof, useful capacity. Overall Polaris currently has something of a monopoly on the waterproof hip pack scene. Thankfully, this is decent. Review Info Brand: Polaris Product: Aquanought Waterproof Hip...
