Pump Track Challenge Highlights – Crankworx Innsbruck 2021

The French dominated the Rockshox Pump Track Challenge this year, with both the top spot in the men and women’s category being taken by French riders.

You can’t go wrong with a bit of pump track action. Catch the replay of the full pump track challenge below.

Men’s Gold Medal Run

It feels different each time. Last year I finished second, and this year first. It’s been a long time since I finished on the top step so, it’s perfect. To race against friends – it’s perfect. It’s nice to share a good moment with friends, especially on a good track with good conditions.

Crankworx also hosted an under 17 event, the CWNEXT (Crankworx’s next-gen category). They reported that RockShox Trek Race Team’s Tegan Cruz (CAN), who grew up racing in Kidsworx at Crankworx Whistler, earned his first Crankworx win outside of his home festival.

“I loved my time racing today,” said Cruz. “I had lots of fun, and I’m super happy to be back racing! Big thanks to everyone at Crankworx. One down and two to go!” The next CWNEXT event will be the Dual Slalom on Saturday, and the deuter Downhill Innsbruck presented by Raiffeisen Club on Sunday.

An awesome illustration by Anders Engberg. He originally submitted it as part of his ‘Mirror Mirror’ article inside issue 142, but we took one look at it and knew we had to put it on the cover. Be sure to check out his other illustrations in his Behind The Build series. Andes…

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
