Due to Covid, there have been some changes to the MTB racing calendar for 2021. Both the HSBC National Downhill series and HSBC National Cross-country series have amended dates as well as venue changes.
HSBC National Downhill Series
With different restrictions in place all over the UK, British Cycling have worked with organisers to make some changes to the upcoming season. Entries for the 2021 downhill series will go live on 21 May at 12:00. Currently, there are only four rounds, but British Cycling are working towards adding another one and will confirm this as soon as possible.

2021 HSBC UK National Cross-country Championships Announced
2021 DH Dates and Venues:
- Round 1: Hamsterley – July 10-11 (New venue and date)
- Round 2: Innerleithen- August 07-08 (New date)
- Round 3: Caersws – September 25-26
- Round 4: Antur Stiniog – October 09-10 (New date)
HSBC National Cross-country Series
Due to originally start back in April, the National XC series will now host round one from 5-6 June at Woody’s Bike Park, Fowey. The series has seen several changes, including dates and venues. Not all venues have been announced yet, but are confirmed.
The National Series announced the changes on their Facebook page. Stating that due to ongoing restrictions, “venues are in place for the other rounds, we may just need to switch them around a little due to the differing restrictions in England and Wales. Further information will be released as soon as it’s possible to be sure. We don’t want you booking travel and accommodation only for us to have to switch.”
2021 XC Dates and Venues:
- Round 1: 5-6 June, Woody’s, Fowey
- Round 2: 3-4 July, Venue TBC
- Round 3: 14-15 August, TBC
- Round 4: 4-5 September, Newcastleton
- Round 5: 11-12 September, TBC
2021 National Championships
HSBC National Downhill Championships
The Downhill National Championship will take place on 17-18 July in Rhyd-Y-Felin. Organised by Pearce Cycles. Entry information will be updated here as it opens.
HSBC National XC Championships
The HSBC National XC Championships are due to take place on 24-25 July in Newham Park, Plymouth. See entry information for the series and the Championships here.
