Orbea announces the 2021 Orbea Factory Team with new riders including Isla Short, and new sponsors!

Press Release Follows

We’ve traveled half the world in the last five years, accumulating thousands of experiences as a family. We’ve met wonderful people — riders, fans, partners and race organizers — all with a common bond: roads, trails, dirt and sweat. And now, we’re getting to know the other half of the world.

“Since our first pedal stroke five years ago, we’ve known that riding a bike or standing on the podium isn’t our only goal. Our goal is much bigger: it’s to share everything we live, feel and experience behind the scenes,” states Orbea.

“We are not an ordinary team. We are a family that’s passionate about biking that wants to share unique experiences with you: the trails of South Africa, the cobblestones of Roubaix, the dust of Strade Bianche…that’s where you’ll find us.”

THE FAMILY IS GROWING

Every year brings new desires and experiences that enable us to grow in every way. In this new era, we’re crossing into more countries with more family members that will show us the way to incredible, new adventures.

Isla Short, Arnaud Jouffroy and Virginia Cancellieri join the Factory family and bring new languages, new perspectives and new discoveries with them. They’re the perfect complement to the superclass that already includes Ibon, Sandra and Purito.

Virginia Cancellieri will show us her vision of the world from Italy. “I have endless hunger, and I am more than ready to attack again in the cross country category with the 2021 Orbea Factory team,” she says.

Arnaud Jouffroy will contribute his perspective from the road and gravel from France, a country rooted in cycling tradition, and he’s very clear about his aspirations with the team: “Challenge, competition, travel, fun and, of course, sharing it all!”

Sandrá Jordá, Purito Rodríguez and Ibon Zugasti will continue to share cycling through their eyes alongside the new team members.

HIRU TO OUTFIT THE FACTORY

The new season will have the team dressed in gear designed by Hiru.

SHIMANO JOINS THE FAMILY

When Shimano is involved, you can expect the latest and greatest tech, innovation, design, reliability and efficiencies. Having them along for the ride is like insurance for your bike. Shimano joins a number of brands that make this project possible, including Hiru, Skoda, DT Swiss and Orbea.
