Sea Otter is the next major cycling event to be postponed due to Coronavirus.
First, it was the Tapei Bike Show, then Mountain Mayhem and now Sea Otter, all now postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. These haven’t been the only cycling casualties though as our own Art Director had to abandon The Bike Connection just a few weeks ago, and many major road cycling events have been postponed or cancelled.
The organisers of Sea Otter haven’t announced when they plan to reschedule the classic mountain bike event to, but have released the following statement.
After a thorough review of the coronavirus threat, we’ve decided to reschedule April’s Sea Otter Classic. Additionally, People for Bikes and Sea Otter Classic will reschedule the Bicycle Leadership Conference.
We are coordinating with local authorities to determine the best dates to host the 2020 Sea Otter Classic and Bicycle Leadership Conference. We anticipate announcing those dates by the middle of next week.
Information regarding registration refunds and rollovers will be posted on our website once the new dates have been finalized.
Thank you again for your understanding and support during these challenging times.

Now we shift our focus to the first round of the Downhill WC in Lousã, Portugal. Will the UCI go ahead or will this too be postponed?
