While at Eurobike, we had the opportunity to check out this limited edition YT Capra 29 AL, of which only 400 will be produced.

Last year YT released a limited edition build of the 27.5in Capra. Only 400 of those bikes were produced and each one was full allow with not one item of carbon fibre to be seen (well, expect the rear mech).

Sales of the 100% carbon-free Capra were so positive the YT Industries has revisited the idea again this year, but now with the larger wheeled 29er Capra instead.

So shiny!

The idea remains the same though, with a 100% carbon-free build, a specially finished raw alloy frame, and super limited availability. Just 400 of these big travel goats will be produced and only 200 of those bikes are earmarked for Europe.

Specifications for this special build bike include a pair of Fox 36 Factory forks, a Fox DHX2 Factory could shock with lightweight SLS steel sprint and matching Fox Transfer dropper post.

Keen-eyed readers will see a Shimano XTR rear mech on this 29er Capra, but sticking with their focus on 11-speed cassettes, YT has fitted this limited bike with a 1 x 11 drivetrain, meaning they can use an E*thirteen 9-46 cassette and E*thirteen wheels.

SRAM Code RSC 4 pot brakes offer powerful stopping while also putting a stop on the Shimano kit, and sticking with the alloy theme of this bike, the cockpit comes from UK based Renthal.

As already pointed out, 400 of these limited edition bikes will be produced but only 200 will come to Europe, the remaining bikes will end up with owners in the U.S. All sizes from M-XXL will be available, and pricing is set at £3,299, which for the spec and availability is sure to whip YT fans into a frenzy.
