Eurobike 2016: Polygon

Eurobike 2016: Polygon

Indonesian brand Polygon probably had the only stand I saw at Eurobike without e-bikes! They did have plenty of others though, including tweaked Collossus DH frames, and a slightly odd dirtjump bike developed with Sam Hill.

Oof, those are some nice looking frames in some good colours. Actually, they’re doing a few new things with the Collossus DH frame this year, and colours are just one of them.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
They didn’t have them yet at the show, but they’re going to be making these in XXL sizes soon.

Alloy front triangle married to a carbon swing arm.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
The design is certainly not half-hearted.

Pink for girls, blue for boys, black for assassins, and green for… Ents?. Or just, you know, whatever colour you fancy. Polygon weren’t being gender or fantasy creature specific, but colours have been limited before. Soon, you’ll be able to pick any colour from a range if you buy one.

Of course, the Colossus DH is available in that bang on trend digger yellow that was everywhere this year.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
On their XC bikes too!

Can you guess them left to right? I’ve got Tracey Hannah and Kurt Sorge, but can’t identify the mysterious man in orange.

This is the Colossus T6, a 140mm trail bike.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
That’s one very neat looking rear triangle.

The Entiat TR8 is a plus-tyred XC hardtail, new for 2017.

Take a 120mm Yari.

Add some Novatec hubs.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
Gently mix Raceface cranks with some XT 1×11, then add to the mix.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
Add one lightly greased Trans-X dropper, while…

… also placing a single gusset at the seat tube.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
Finish it with three inch tyres…
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
… and you probably have a pretty capable hardtail!

What’s this!? A dirt jump bike, on Singletrack! *gasp* But wait, what’s that on the down tube?
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
A shifter to bottle boss mount! Dirt jumpers have been hacking things like this together for a long time, and Polygon decided to make a nice version. Unfortunately it’s not sold separately, you have to buy the bike.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
While you may think of downtube shifters as extremely retro, we don’t reckon this bike would fool anyone if you turned up for L’Eroica on it.
Eurobike 2016: Polygon
The bike is Polygon’s Trid ZZ, and while not many riders seem to use them nowadays, it comes with a banjo bolt on the stem cap just in case.

This is the Relic 26″ junior mountain bike; *loads* of brands at Eurobike this year were showing kids bikes, with various outlooks on proportionally sized wheels.

David started mountain biking in the 90’s, by which he means “Ineptly jumping a Saracen Kili Racer off anything available in a nearby industrial estate”. After growing up and living in some extremely flat places, David moved to Yorkshire specifically for the mountain biking. This felt like a horrible mistake at first, because the hills are so steep, but you get used to them pretty quickly. Previously, David trifled with road and BMX, but mountain bikes always won. He’s most at peace battering down a rough trail, quietly fixing everything that does to a bike, or trying to figure out if that one click of compression damping has made things marginally better or worse. The inept jumping continues to this day.
