PRESS RELEASE: Jamis Bicycles is pleased to announce its complete line of Plus(+) size trail bikes for 2017. The new Dragon, Komodo and Eden Series bikes are designed for fast trail riding with 120mm forks, slackened geometry and short rear ends. Originally previewed at the Sea Otter Classic in April, the expanded line-up is a direct result of increased consumer and dealer awareness and demand.
All Jamis Plus(+) size bikes are built with and feature oversize 3” tires. This keeps the overall outside wheel diameter (OD) consistent with current standards while delivering the plusher, more versatile ride characteristics that come with a fatter tire. A 26+ has an effective 27.5” OD and a 27.5+ has an effective 29” OD.
“The capability and overall fun-factor that comes with the 3” tire is universal, and the reception to the expanded 2017 line has been nothing short of amazing.”
The Dragon Series is the Reynolds 520 steel Plus(+) line. Building on the momentum of last year’s single Dragonslayer 27.5+ model, the 2017 Dragonslayer and Dragonfly Series has been expanded to six models. Dragonslayer will be available either in a 27.5+ or 26+ wheel sizes, while the women’s Dragonfly models move to 26+.
All Dragon Series bikes feature adjustable sliding dropouts with a full 15mm of throw, thru axles front (15mm) and rear (12mm), rear rack and multiple cargo/water bottle eyelets for bike packing, oversize 44mm head tubes, boost hub spacing, tubeless wheel sets and internal dropper post routing.
The 2017 DRAGONSLAYER and DRAGONFLY models include:
All three Pro models share the same specification and MSRP of $2,499.00
All three Sport models share the same specification and MSRP of $1,399.00
The Jamis Komodo and Eden Series bikes offer a frame material alternative to the Dragons. All are made from triple butted 6061 aluminum and feature Boost hub spacing, tapered head tubes, forged BB yokes, tubeless wheel sets and internal dropper post routing.
The 2017 KOMODO and EDEN Series bikes are also conveniently spec’ed and priced into two packages:
All three Expert models share the same specification and MSRP of $1,699.00
All three Sport models the same specification and MSRP of $999.00
No UK prices as of yet but the Jamis bikes are expected in stock beginning at the end of September.
