Stradalli Robbery

Major Bike Theft from Warehouse

by 0

Over the weekend, thieves broke into the Stradalli Cycles warehouse in Pompano Beach, Florida, taking over 50 carbon bikes worth nearly $200,000. Much of the theft was caught on camera, and viewers will likely find the scenes of high-end carbon bikes being hurled onto the back of a truck hard to watch without wincing. Look out for suspiciously cheap bikes being sold with bent rear dérailleurs.

The thieves look to have been unprepared for the number of bikes in the warehouse, as CCTV footage also shows them looking for additional transport to carry their loot.

We were contacted by Stradalli, who are hoping that we can help make these bikes too hot to handle – so share away, and hopefully we’ll be able to bring you a good news story before too long.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
