We caught up with Orange again at the London Bike Show, to find out a little more about the new, revamped P7…

…and here it is, in all its glory. Let’s talk about the frame first.

Reynolds 525 steel, with all-new geometries (65 deg head angle, 74 deg seat angle), long (reach on the L is 457mm) with 430mm chainstays, it’s quite the Modern Millie. The 140mm-fork appropriate P7 is available in sizes from S through to XL, in two flavours. This one is the P7 S, with a Revelation RL, SLX running gear and Kore components, from £1450.

The P7 RS is upgraded with a Pike 140 RCT3 Solo Air on the front, GX1 drivetrain and a KS Lev Integra dropper post. It also comes with Renthal cockpit goodies. The Rs will set you back from £2350. Frames will be available at the end of March, and the bikes will be available from early April.

And finally, here’s a shot of the Hope – pimped out 324. Just because it’s ace.

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
