Swinley based Bird Cycleworks has announced two new hardtails set to launch for 2016, the Zero.AM and Zero.TR.
The original Zero tubeset has stayed with the new design, but the geometry and sizing matches that of the 140/150mm full suspension Aeris.
The Zero.AM is lower, slacker and longer that the original – with Bird claiming it’s “built to shred the roughest of trails, tackle the big jumps, and generally hoon around on.”
You can see the key features for yourself below:
- Medium Size has a reach of 436mm and 615mm ETT, combined with a 30-50mm stem for “razor sharp handling.”
- New XL model provides a new 478/660mm frame for bigger riders.
- Slack head angle (65.4), short chainstays and low BB ideal for pumping berms, jumps and generally misbehaving on.
- Available in two colours – Stealth Black and Acid Yellow – with starting price range of £1225
The TR frame model is built with a 130mmm fork in focus – and it also weighs in at 200g lighter than the 2014 Zero which weighed at an already reasonable 1.8kg for aluminium shininess.
Some key features include:
- Longer reach with the medium size measuring up at 447mm with a 625mm effective top tube, coupled with a 30-50mm stem.
- A slack head angle which measures up 66.2 degrees static and 68 degrees sagged.
- It’s available in two metallic colours; Matt Tungsten and Gloss Candy Blue.
- A full build would weigh around 23lbs and upwards depending on components chosen.
