Oh, you know, me and Canyon, we’re just good friends, right?

A few days ago Darren Berrecloth announced that after 13 years, he’d be parting ways with Specialized. They compiled a farewell video of some of his moments over the years:

Meanwhile, this video has surfaced of him building a Canyon Torque DHX at the Red Bull Rampage and we’ve just had confirmation of it from Berrecloth and Canyon:

“At my first meeting with the guys from Canyon (says Bearclaw), I immediately felt like I would be welcomed into a family. From that point on Canyon was my top pick for a brand to partner with. Everyone I’ve met has been laid back and easy going, and we’ve got some big plans I can’t wait to get started with.”

“With Darren on board we’re super lucky to have another one of the biggest names in the sport riding for us. Few riders out there compare to Darren when you look at what he’s done for mountain biking. Freeriding is what it is today because of him. He’s an inspiration to so many riders and we’ve now got the chance to showcase all his experience and talent. There are so many cool ideas flying around right now that we cannot wait to make happen together.” – CFFT Manager, Flo Goral.

It all kicks off this weekend. Darren is busy prepping lines to ride on his new Torque DHX at the 2015 Red Bull Rampage, where he will make his official Canyon debut.

darren Berrecloth Says Farewell to Specialized and hello to Canyon

David started mountain biking in the 90’s, by which he means “Ineptly jumping a Saracen Kili Racer off anything available in a nearby industrial estate”. After growing up and living in some extremely flat places, David moved to Yorkshire specifically for the mountain biking. This felt like a horrible mistake at first, because the hills are so steep, but you get used to them pretty quickly. Previously, David trifled with road and BMX, but mountain bikes always won. He’s most at peace battering down a rough trail, quietly fixing everything that does to a bike, or trying to figure out if that one click of compression damping has made things marginally better or worse. The inept jumping continues to this day.
