Those Magic Rock types, over in Huddersfield, are hosting an exhibition! Not only that, but it’s Sam Needham’s winning shots from the Crankworx ‘Deep Summer’ competition, all the way from Whistler. Coo!

MRT-OPENING

Here’s the release in full:

***************

Magic Rock Tap are proud to present their first ever exhibition. We will be showcasing Sam Needham’s winning sideshow from this years ‘Crankworx Deep Summer’ photo Challenge in Whistler.

Sam will be showing some framed work, a slideshow of his winning photos and will be there to talk about the journey that was being part of such a competition. The collection of photos reflect the statement, “Life is a journey. One done better by bike, with good friends and with some kind of drinks at the end”. So what better place to host the exhibition, than within our very own tap room.

The exhibition is kindly supported by Orange Bikes, Singletrack Magazine, Chromag, Altura and Ride For Michael Charity. This is a free event and we’ll be holding a raffle on the night with 5 top prizes to win. All the proceeds will be going towards the Ride For Michael Charity.

Oh yeah, baby

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
