Eurobike 2015: Lezyne

Lezyne make some of our favourite chunky, solid feeling workshop tools, and had engineers and reps with a bunch of brand new stuff to talk about. Mainly lights and pumps.

The Lezyne Super Drive is a 1200 Lumen light.
P1030775
and the Deca Drive puts out 1500 lumens.
P1030774
Both are available as kits complete with hard case and mounts.
P1030778
Their new track pumps all have a redesigned chuck, dubbed the ABS 2.
P1030780
The red sleeve slides back on a spring. You can then push the chuck straight down onto your valve, let the sleeve return to clamp it down and pump away, or screw it down a little for extra security.
P1030790
It’s a combination of brass, aluminium and Delrin.
P1030793
ABS 2 keeps the valve open at all times, and the button lets you drop the pressure in the tyre.
P1030794
Like all Lezyne stuff, it has a pleasingly durable feel.
P1030795
“Give it a twirl”
P1030799
Also in orange and silver
P1030801
Or red and black, shown here on one of their digital pumps.
P1030802
They had some lovely displays of their existing tool lines…
P1030808
… which now have me thinking about laser cut acrylic shadow boards for that super organised workshop I’ll never achieve.
P1030807
mmmultitools.
P1030813
CO2
P1030814
A lever for every occasion.

Look at the gauge on that!

David started mountain biking in the 90’s, by which he means “Ineptly jumping a Saracen Kili Racer off anything available in a nearby industrial estate”. After growing up and living in some extremely flat places, David moved to Yorkshire specifically for the mountain biking. This felt like a horrible mistake at first, because the hills are so steep, but you get used to them pretty quickly. Previously, David trifled with road and BMX, but mountain bikes always won. He’s most at peace battering down a rough trail, quietly fixing everything that does to a bike, or trying to figure out if that one click of compression damping has made things marginally better or worse. The inept jumping continues to this day.
