Santa Cruz sold to Cervélo owners Pon Holdings

In a move which may have surprised some fans, Santa Cruz – purveyors of such bicycles as the Bronson and the Nomad – has been sold to Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings.

Pon is notable as the owner of Derby Cycles (Focus, Univega) and Cervélo. Our current information is that ex pro-skater Rob Roskopp is staying on as CEO.

At present it’s unclear what effect this may have on the direction of the company; we’ll keep you posted.

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
