You’d have to have been living under a rock not to have heard about you guys. How do you see it, settled into your rural location?
As our marketing suggested we’ve been ‘Pinnin’ it since 1984′. Moving out of our cramped, North Leeds site a few years back has given us wings. Our motto has always been to bring you the world’s leading cycling brands. We are very much settled into our base in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Essentially it’s bigger Stif, rolling hills – same great service.
What have you got in-store?
We actually have the biggest range of Santa Cruz in the UK and also have Niner, Orange & Juliana. We’ve got parts and components from brands like Joystick, KS, BOS, Hope and Mavic, and a huge selection of both ridewear and streetwear from Fox and brands including Dakine, Troy Lee, Sweet Protection, Acre and FiveTen.
We’ve also got a fully equipped workshop for all your spannering needs, and an amazing team of mechanics who can fix anything (if we provide them with enough biscuits)!
All of our staff are bike obsessed and collectively we have hundreds of years riding experience to call upon. We know what works and what doesn’t; we pride ourselves on genuine, helpful advice.
Cut to the chase then Sammy. What’s hot at the minute?
Being a main dealer for market leading brands, we see many wonderful bits of kit everyday, but sometimes it’s the simple products that take you by surprise. Our Stif “Well Bastard Fast” Fender is a corker. It keeps the grime out of your face and has our retro Stif logo on it. Bloody brilliant!
Built anything fancy recently?
It’s bread and butter here. Building great custom bikes for our customers is the best part of the job. Here’s a selection of our recent favourites: ( Bronson, Chameleon, Jackal, Niner RLT, Nomad, Stigmata & V10). Yum. Take your pick…
Are you all about the Enduro?
We are definitely selling plenty of Santa Cruz Nomads and Bronsons at the minute, yes. We also have a blog page for our rider Josh Loosedog Lewis where people can get their fix of Enduro antics (looseblog.stif.co.uk) but we’re also selling plenty of Solos (we still call it that), Niner ROS9s and now the new Highball both 29er and 6 fiddy bee (or 27.5″) to customers who just like to go out and ride. The new V10 has also been really popular recently – especially the new cheaper Carbon C version which we are all secretly lusting after.
Any Demo Days coming up?
Actually yes! This coming Saturday (23 May), across at the amazing Stainburn trail centre which is about 10 minutes from our shop, we’ll be setting out the test fleet of bikes from Santa Cruz, Juliana, Niner and Orange.
