Genesis CdA

This just in at our Grim Northern HQ: the Genesis CdA, only just launched by the British-designed bike company. It’s designed to be a big tyre road bike, or a forest trail tracker, or a classic commuter or a first timer ‘cross machine – and to do all of those things at once without much of a nod to tradition in any direction.

It came about as a ‘because we can’ shoving in of the wrong wheels in the wrong frame by the designers. They had a fun time flitting between the towpath, the forest tracks and the bumpy tarmac roads that they decided that if they liked it, then so might other people. And the whole bike comes in at £799, so fits below the Cycle to Work Scheme threshold and almost into Friday night impulse-purchase territory.

We’re going to lend this to our most unsubtle of regular commuters and report back soon on what he reckons of it.
