Tuesday Treats 29: BikeSeven Cycle Service

by singletrackjay 0

Here’s your once a week (doctor’s approved) dosage of product fancy from Singletrack’s Premier Dealers, stockists and advertisers.

Tuesday Treats gives you a quality serving of independent bike retailing and a chance to win big, in this week’s special prize draw.

This week, we introduce BikeSeven Cycle Service:

Bikeseven is located in the lovely town of Longtown, Cumbria the gateway to the 7Stanes Trails with Newcastleton, Ae Forest and Mabie Forest on their doorstep – Kielder and the Lakes (Whinlatter) are within easy reach, as are the other 7Stanes trail centres. They tell us there is plenty of freeriding to explore as well, they really have got it all!

Daan van Belzen picks up the story. ‘Our staff are Cytech trained and have experience reflected in our growing customer base who love our shop and the mechanics. Head of Servicing is Levi, a cross-country (Kona King Kikapu and Bionicon Edison) and road (Orbea Onix) enthusiast, Technician Shane loves trials and rides a few trails on his Kona Cadabra.

Beverley and I potter about; me on my Kona Honzo and City tourer with a Weehoo trailerbike behind (for my grandson). We are actually enthusiastic, prominent resellers for Weehoo biketrailer so if you’re in the market, definitely check them out’.

What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?

Relic Pedals are a speciality we love, especially the Keel model, and Moon Comet Lights are great bits of kit.

Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?

We always recommend Conti and Schwalbe tyres.

Any recent Custom Builds you care to mention?

An Orange P7 frame with customised Gates belt drive and Nuvinci hub and a Trek Fuel rebuild, including full custom respray. We can do it all.

P7, belt drive, drop bars, tarmac tyres... sweet tourer!

Is there a forthcoming event you think our readers should know about?

Yes, several we really recommend. Firstly, we are busy getting ready for BikeSeven’s very own Border Blast, coming up this very weekend and promises a range of the very best in demo bikes in a stunning setting. Border Blast is split over two days, covering both a show day in the BikeSeven Cycle Centre in Longtown Carlisle, on Saturday 2nd and featuring a full Demo Day at the Dykecroft Trail Centre at 7Stanes Newcastleton, Sunday 3rd March…

Other than playing on some fantastic bikes (including models from Bionicon, Kona, Orbea, Diamondback, Saracen, Felt and BikeSeven’s Monster Bike!), the wonderful Scottish Borders provides the backdrop, superb catering from Philip Hedley on site in the Dykecroft Cafe, full changing facilities, with industry friends 2Pure and Clif bar supplying electrolyte refreshment.

Everything you need to know is over here or call us for more details on models, availability and sizing: 01228 792 497

Otherwise we’ll be involved in Newcatleton Cross-Border Classic 6-7 April and Muckle toon Adventure Festival 17-19 May. Come introduce yourselves over here on our Facebook page.

Tell us something about your shop/staff that no-one knows…

Another cycle retailer form down south has been recorded saying we have a “different shop with an eclectic range of product”. We’ll took that as a compliment!
