Issue 72 Extras: Dream Bikes

by singletrackjon 4

For an inanimate object made from metal, rubber, resin and fibre the bicycle can attract an inordinate amount of lust. In the current magazine the Singletrack staff set their minds to picking the bikes they’ve always desired but were never able to have.

It’s a broad spectrum; everything from a 20 year old steel hardtail to a lightweight carbon fibre 8″ travel downhill race bike. Some are bikes that can’t be bought for love nor money, others have made history and some could be purchased from a shop floor right now.

Whatever era, niche or person they’re associated with, they’re all Dream Bikes…

  1. I think my Dream Bike would be the old purple and green Rocky Mountain Pipeline 🙂

  2. I still lust after a Brooklyn TMX. I imagine it’d be truly awful to ride though…

  3. Almost every “dream bike” I actually rode ended up being a disappointment (at least in fact!)

  4. I always lusted after a Raleigh Maverick circa 1986…
