The mountain bike race, which takes in the famous Annapurna circuit trekking route in Nepal has attracted competitors from the UK, Ireland, Australia,France, Nepal and has even captured the imagination of avid mtb’er and eurovision song contest winner, Sweden’s Martin Stenmarck, who will be accompanied by Swedens national mtb coach.

The 2010 Yak Attack will be new and improved, providing over 400km of serious off road riding and over 8000m of climbing during the 10 day race. Now starting from the very heart of Nepals capital city, Kathmandu, competitors will ride along back country jeep tracks, taking them through Nepals ancient capital of Gorka until finally linking up with the Annapurna circuit at Besi Sahar.. Leaving Besi Sahar behind the race gets really tough, with an increase of 4600m in altitude over the next 4.5 days, taking riders to the top of the worlds highest pass, Thorong La at 5416m.  From here its a 1.5 day 4300m descent to the finish at Tatopani, where the riders can enjoy a well earned soak in the hot springs located next door to the hotel.
