TALON HAS LANDED – GIANT LAUNCH UK SPECIFIC TRAIL BIKE

Calling all lovers of UK trail riding, we have the answer to your prayers!

Giant have launched the all-new, UK specific Talon. This series of high quality performance hardtail mountain bikes has been designed specifically for theever-growing number of riders who make use of the UK’s many trail centres.

The series features a lightweight and nimble Fluid Formed AluxX Aluminium frame with high quality specifications throughout. The seven strong series comprises of five gents and two ladies models all with WTB saddles, Kenda Nevegal tyres, riser bars with short stems and disc brakes.

Fast, confidence-inspiring handling and a relaxed riding position rounded off in an attractive and high quality package. The trail never felt so good, before Talon.

Simon from Giant has been in touch with a few more details on the Talon:

“The frame itself has been specifically designed for us at our request with a shorter top tube than our XTC with a 1.5 degree slacker head angle, so less race and much more trail riding specific to suit the UK trail riders. Because it’s a different bike with a different outlook and purpose it runs alongside our current XTC offering and so is not a replacement.

Regarding price, the Talon 3 begins the line up at £425 with the Talon 0 topping the range at £850, when you look at comparable competitors models the Talons stack up very well price and spec wise. Ladies versions are £425 and £550.”

It’s UK specific because it’s more expensive here than any where else on the planet.

It’s a shame the women specific design is only available in two (cheaper) models. If you want a Rockshox fork or any SLX parts you’re out of luck!

It appears to be UK specific by dint of having a shorter than normal (in Europe) stem, riser bars, a WTB saddle and Kenda tyres.

Shame about the “low” spec. Forks especially seem to be from the bottom end of the performance bracket. Or is this an early indicator of specs we can expect on price point bikes for the foreseeable future? I suspect so.

It’ll run along side XTC, geometry looks differnt. Range of 4 bikes with prices from around 475/500 to around 800 off the top of my head.

Prices 425 to 850 after checking . Available in 6 or 7 weeks time. They tell us it’s an “all new” frame!
