Looks to me like the bike is far too small for her, and there’d be little clearance behind the saddle for the child seat even with an average-sized rider. Her knees are practically catching the bars.

Maybe it’s her “do everything” bike and she wants to keep it more flick-able for the jumps etc? 😆

And why do they need helmets? The kid clearly has airbags fitted.

Whilst there are better designed bikes more suitable for her and her child, she is on a bike and that is all that matters. Chapeau!
