I don't mind spending on good stuff, but there's a point after which you're only buying for blings sake.
This was probably as much as I'll ever spend on a bike.

This could get interesting! To me something you can just buy from any old bikeshop isn't bling, mass produced stuff just doesnt do it imo. Everyone will have a different idea of what counts though! Bling is in the eye of the beholder
Bling or pimp to me is something a little bit different and/or something a bit special or where a lot of thought has gone into.

Yes, they're linear like standard gear outer and not spiral wound, only difference is that they're slightly thicker (5mm instead of 4mm) so you'll need to use brake outer ferrules - standard gear inner wire will run in them fine though.

Well I think bling isn't necessarily the most expensive parts. My Pitch Pro (brown anodised) is going the 70's disco look - gold pedals, bashguard and I just got these Spank Royala bars and stem which (it says on the package) are 24ct gold plated - that's bling!
