    I'm in Telford for work one day next week, and might be able to sneak in a cheeky half day's ride somewhere reasonably near by (say up to an hour's travel).

    What would you recommend?

    With a car you can easily get to Church Stretton in an hour.

    Long Mynd

    That should keep you going. All easily within an hour of telford.
