We're going to stay with friends in the Jura area of France, and wonder if anyone can give us some advice on trail riding there, or where we might get some information. We can't seem to find much online. Thank you.
Longshot, but we stayed here a couple of years ago and the chap that ran had loads of maps of cycle routes:

Might be worth speaking to them?
Metabief! Used to be on the wc dh circuit and now hosts early season enduro. We drove passed on our way to chatel and i've been thinking about a holiday there since. Less driving and less crowds Prob far cheaper too (although a lot smaller), good for the family I'd guess
I've ridden Metabief, good mix of trail and downhill tracks with a chairlift or access road to the top.
Thanks for those suggestions. I've also found more online, so we have more idea of where to go.
Try Lac Blanc bike park and La Bresse have bike parks with chair access
Metabief for lift assisted, it opens early May. sadly the early season enduro mentioned above isn't running this year which is a pity as last years was a big success and I was thinking of doing it ! Lots of XC riding in the Jura, the higher mountains are to the West near Geneva. I did a train uplift ride from Nyon upto St Cergue and back down which was OK. There is a train uplift ride from Montreux to Col du Jamman/ Roche de Naye, if you are not too far which looks great, I've hiked up there and the view is gorgeous, will try and do the ride this year. Can email you a map if you care.
A pic to tempt you from Col du Jamman
metabief enduro promo (search Vimeo there are a few from different years)
