  • Where and how to donate a mobility bath….

I have a mobility bath in a house I have bought, which I do not need.

It was only about 12 months old when last used, and cost over £5000. It has a chair lift, and hydraulic legs to raise it up to a comfortable height for a carer. It also has water jets.

I am loathed to scrap it, and am struggling to find anyone to take it.

Hoping that someone on this forum might know a good home for it. I do not want any money for it, but neither do I want someone else to profit from it, so hoping that it can go directly to an end user that will get real benefit from it.

Anyone got any suggestions? Bath is one of these…

There’s a Red Cross mobility aids shop in Marple who specialise, as the name suggests, in mobility aids. I’m sure they’d be able to help.

Cheers nbt, I’ll ask them if I don’t get any takers from here.

Get in touch with TWAM (Tools With A Mission) who have just collected some old garden tools from us to send to Africa. They may not want the bath but they may know a clinic or hospital that does.

Thanks Orman – i’ve mailed my parents. Is it currently installed as an ‘island’ at the moment or against a wall? The documentation seems a bit contradictory.

Ewan, it was installed against a wall, but it has panels all around and could be installed as an island.

Orman – the bath weighs 185kg apparently, so the floor won’t take it in my mums house (upstairs). Hope you find someone who can take it off your hands.
