    I heard a rumour that Planet X wasn't in the best of health. Anyone know if there's any truth in that?

    i'm sure you can wait til monday

    it'd be a quantum shift if it's true though

    A "quantum leap"? i.e. a very, very small movement?

    Or is it more like this?

  9. poppa - Member

    Does this mean pre-mainstream On-Ones will become collectors items?

    Posted 3 years ago #
  10. druidh - Member

    More to the point, will you be able to use your W****e voucher to get a discount?

    Posted 3 years ago #
  11. mrmichaelwright - Member

    no, a quantum leap in that it defies the norms of understanding

    zOMG! It'll be just like Klein and Trek all over again. Only without the nice paint.

    Fireplace needs re-pointing and those kitchen cupboards are well wonky. Does gary Fisher not mind folk borrowing his beards?

    I'll start a rumour;

    Perhaps it's a rescue deal after on-one/ planets X's recent skirmish with the Inland Revenue.

    I was thinking not so much "rescue deal", more "change of trading arrangements". Sounds like Brant got shafted by the tax folks due to incorrect advice. Maybe this change just makes more sense in light of those tax rules.

    I believe (in a I just made this up kinda way) that he is leaving the bike business and setting up a new venture specialising in amputee pornography

    Maybe Gordon's bought it for us to save British jobs?

    Here's the video of Brant calling him!

    NO truth in that at all. Planet X are in excellent health in every way. Other than that, I'm not going to speculate.

    Good time to cozy up with a big bike brand, especially with cheap frames/deals in Taiwan drying up due to the exchange rate.

    Appoints Halfords as distributor.......?

    Posted 3 years ago #
  29. miketually - Member

    On the "how much are you paid thread", Brant said he owned shares in a bike company that's doing very well, so it's probably not anything related to bad financial health of the company.

    My guess 1: Selling build kits rather than bikes
    My guess 2: Brant drinks too much red wine tonight and blabs on Twitter or here

    Bikes to be sold only through marketing on STW website?

    Ohh. What do you mean they already are?

    Posted 3 years ago #
  31. KINGTUT - Member

    Ok I'll start another rumor;

    Upgrade is taking over the distribution of on-one frames.

    A bit of made up research has revealed that he has invented a new process for making road bicycles entirely out of his own logos as he was dissapointed with the lack of logos on previous bikes.

    Maybe

    Bikes to be sold only through marketing on STW website?

    On-one's viral marketing extends to Twitter as brant launches a new, even nicherer range of bikes designed for those with very short attention spans and blogging urges. To be branded "Twa*ter".
