just to keep bristolbiker happy 😆

Anyway I was thinking quite skinny, sort of 1.7 / 1.8 that can cope with the gloop that forms the bottom of the downs.

Bonty Mud-X is the way to go (2.0 here) – they’re virtually a year round tyre for the Brighton area…

Does this mean I have to get over my Trek aversion?

Nothnig will stop the mud from clogging on the downs. I use 1.8 bonty MudX on rear and 2.0 on front and they cope to some degree.

panaracer trail rakers work for me around Winchester, 2.1 on the back and 1.9 on the front of a ten year old hard tail…
They’re not trek related are they?

Bontrager Big Earl Wets, Mud-X’s (thin side walls, killed a brand new one coming down the Fint Terror) or XR4’s
