So felt pretty blue over the last few days as I loved my first race/event so much, but, have nothing else lined up.
Really enjoyed putting plenty of miles and climbing in prior as I knew it would be a grueller.
However I seem to have already slipped into biscuits at lunch beer after work mode.
Anything similar on the calendar anyone can recommend. I’m derby based so pretty central for getting around.

PMBA Enduro at Grizedale in September is the next race for me.
I’m very average but racing can be addictive!

I’ve organised an uplift day at Antur for this weekend. Not Enduro I know, but squint, and it’s almost stage racing 😆

Set up your own 5 stage Enduro on Matesrace (http://www.matesrace.co.uk/) Now the ‘Ard Rock is out of the way I can concentrate on more important thinks, like getting back to the top of the leader board for my local event http://www.matesrace.co.uk/event/2821

Fair play to you for actually training for a tin pot local mates race-there are tons of races out there, they aren’t cheap but they are good fun but you maybe looking at next year now

PMBA at grizedale on 13th sept not as gruelling as ard rock but a full practice lap in morning & race in afternoon, gives you a good day in the saddle. It is a superbly run series pick your start time at sign on allways a good set of stages and theres plenty of good stuff in grizedale for variety. There are still places left, get on it you wont regret it.

Must be awesome to live somewhere with a run of that quality and length. The speed he entered some of the sections off the fire roads was insane!

Question regarding Grizdale, is the Enduro on the man made stuff or does it use bridal ways etc. and will it be taped off on the Saturday?

Last one was new stuff through a woody section leading onto the new black run. Other stages were a mix of walkers only paths, new stuff and maybe a few small sections of existing cycle trails (I don’t go up there though so can’t be sure). Check out the vids on youtube, it was a great laugh.

Ae has a bad rep as a trailcentre but it’s a great venue for a race…

No word on a dudes enduro for this year yet, it’s in the arse end of nowhere mind but every year it’s been pretty much top of the class. Maybe last year’s tweedlove ews tops it

Re grizedale, as D Spink says probably be a mix of walkers routes, fresh cut sections and possibly some existing trails. Though I’ve heard a rumour of someone from grizedale that this race will mainly be the other side of the forest which is mainly walkers routes & bridleways there’s no trails over there. But the bridleway network is quality gnarly techy stuff

Brighton Big Dog for me, back to thrashing round and round in circles for me. Loved my little skirmish into Enduro with the All Mountain Challenge, nice little skill builder and a great day out.

Ard Rock gonna be tough to beat, but PMBA’s have been great tbf. the last Grizedale one was quality and the Lee Quarry / Cock Hill round was brilliant too. so yeah get on the PMBA if there are spaces left, be prepared for much muddier, rootier, more tech stages than the ard rock tho.
There is also the Gisburn PMBA but i think that may be sold out and next up for me is the Tweedlove King & Queen of the hill at Peebles next week. (also sold out)

Thanks darrenspink & slordy – Unfortunately I won’t be entering the enduro but I’m in the Lakes that weekend (first time) and was hoping to do a ride taking in the best bits Grizdale has to offer.

Will have to aim for the Saturday to avoid the event.

Fathomer, to be honest theres that much stuff to ride in grizedale you’d be fine on the sunday, you could ride round all day & not repeat any sections
