Is it a first date? if so then why going to the cinema to sit there for 2 hours not speaking? Surely better to do something where you can actually chat?
Cinema is good for a first date. Cinema first, drink / meal / chat after. If there is a break in the conversation then you can always chat about the film.
ermmm how about an early meet - discuss which film to watch then decide on drinks / coffee (if you're driving) / meal whilst waiting for film to start...
As already mentioned, Winter's Bone is quite possibly the finest film of 2010 and one of my all time favourite films.
As a bonus, if she doesn't like it then you've received early warning that she is a terrible person!
