On Monday I will be attempting to ride the Welsh Coast to Coast, the current record time is 20hrs 10 minutes.
I will also be raising money for Cancer Research Wales in memory of my father-in-law and in support of my father who is battling the disease. I will have a spot track and anyone will be able to follow progress live online.

Full details here.
The easiest way to follow progress will be twitter, @mattpage24 as the spot will automatically update it.

Good luck Matt, 3 of us did the great ormes head to worms head c2c last weekend and it is a great route. Are you doing carnaerfon to Cardiff or the great orme to worms head? You'll be glad to know that the trails are running well, and apart from the hills, it's all rideable and pretty dry. One tip, there's some forest track near Corris that is closed due to forestry work, so if you're doing this bit, there's a parallel road option. Have a great ride and I hope you get the record

The record route runs from Caernarfon to Cardiff. It was a route devised by Dave Buchanan with the aim of creating a fast route, mostly off-road and linking with some iconic sites along the way.

The Great Orme to Worms head is a great route, more suited to a longer tour as you did.

Thanks everyone. I finished in 18hrs 41min.
That was one hell of a day! Mentally very tough, much harder than 24hr racing.

By the way what is the distance and do you have a GPX of the route?

The distance was about 210 miles with around 7000m climbing. Huge variations of terrain along the way, stunning but very hard going.

Saw the time on twitter this morning. That is one hell of a record.

Who is going to try and beat that, I do not know.

Very well done Matt, and for an excellent cause.

I sincerely hope you're now sitting in the sunshine with a cold beer, or three.

Toby

Hard life being a pro, while the rest of us sit at our desks staring out of the window.....

Well done again!
