I'm sure I was once told you are meant to do the caustic soda "trick" with the frame upside down (without lopping the top off of the post of course) filling it as shown in that video surely the BB shell and downtube are just getting a good soaking. can't be ideal...
Cheaper to buy a frame off here than ruin your patio tbh...
