  • Weekly photo challenge. 11.7.11 – 17.7.11 – Water
  • Nice easy one this week, Water.

    The rules;
    1. Take a photo of your bike with something that matches the theme in the picture.
    2. Interpret the theme any way you like.
    3. Pictures should be taken between the dates in the topic title.
    4. If you post a picture you can either suggest a theme for next weeks challenge or vote for someone else’s suggestion. First suggestion to get two supporting votes becomes next weeks theme, probably.

    Serendipitously, what yesterday was part of a footpath, today had become a braid in the river

    Oh, forgot – my suggestion for next weeks challenge given the prevailing mood around the forum – Tarmac……..!
    <ducks and covers>

    Tarmac ?
    Hmmm. That could work if we put a bit of a twist on it. How about tarmac, but not a public road ?

    Twas a tongue-firmly-in-cheek suggestion given the ‘banter’ around here at the moment around the amount of ‘roadie’ content 😉
    For me i’d say stick with tarmac in general – my point being I bet we ‘mountain bikers’ all ride on it a some point – linking trails etc – let the photographer bring the twist to it, if needed… 🙂

    If that’s deemed a complete rubbish (quite likely 🙂 ) then, have we done ‘Beer’ yet – after all, tis the time of year for a pleasant ride, followed by a pint?

    Pity I didn’t have a camera last night, the (very) red sunset reflected in anglezark res would have looked outstanding even with the camera in my fumbling inept fingers.

    Anphip’s eye view of my Peregrine (from half in/ half out of the stream).

    an’ sand isn’t just for fatbikes. 😉

    Although I will admit that the dry, loose sand at the top of the beach was a complete nightmare. 😕

    BW from Stalling Busk to Marsett by clarkpm4242, on Flickr

    En route from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Kirkby Stephen yesterday, via a few places, 45miles and 6000ft. Lovely day. The stream is the BW…

    …forgot to include the bike!!

    Cheers

    I’m in Singapore John. The only downside is there’s only about 3 places to go mountain biking!

    I like the suggestion of food for next week’s challenge. There’s Panda Portrait potential in that….

    OK, I took a few this morning on the way to work. It’s the River Walkham where the old railway track crosses it near King’s Tor. Sorry about the “non bike” but it was what I was riding at the time and the sun came out – just imagine the other bits if it bothers you 🙂

    I’ll vote for the “tarmac that isn’t a road” topic for next week – there’s a few of those round here.

    I found a ford very close to our house that I never knew existed! Then I discovered half way across it wasn’t really a ford, as the bike started sinking into the goo at the bottom. I bailed out via the tree… 🙂
