They are nice bikes and you can tell people that you ride a 18inch red wanga.

    I had a steel one.
Pro: very old school and zippy.
Neg: paint chips very easily, back end flexes loads under power, so much so my chain kept fallung off, sliding dropouts do just that during a ride, hard to fix.

I boughr a whole bike fir £400. Broke up and sold at a small loss.

My profile pic is me carrying one overva finish line with another bruised skinned leg. Sold soon after.

I had one for a few years, very twitchy and bad angles for descents but fine for general XC. Only sold it after I discovered corrosion in the seat tube.

wow – that drop bar one looks pretty good.

I have one, with 100mm Rebas – a very nice XC bike.

Mine has a Bob Jackson paintjob so different color and no easy chipping.

My dropouts have never slid, I think there is a fix where you can put some bolts on the adjusting screws to stop it sliding anyway.

Never lost my chain from flex in the back end – but then I spin the pedals a lot and never mash them.

The back end is not as good as my old Kona Explosif (OX tubing) at keeping composed through rough stuff.

The headtube is also quite tall on it.

For XC the angles are great. Joe Murray design.

Lots of very good reviews here, a high score for mtbr.com:

My favourite frame ever….. in SS guise. Paint is crap though…..

Seen a couple of cracked ones too…..

I like mine but then I like steel SS HT frames. It suits me (sir).

who needs a cyclecross bike with a Wanga!

    think I might try that.

Was thinking about getting a Genesis Day One Alfine, but might just Alfine the Wanga instead.

works better with a Singular hummingbird fork (not sure of exact length or rake) you could use an ordinary suspension corrected 26″ rigid fork though as it’ll have plenty of clearance, the above pic has road tyres but i used cx tyres too. works very well as a 69er too

I have a Pace RC31, although that singular looks right.

better standover than a Day One as well.

Bought one – rode it once – sold it.

    Far too twitchy.

Sliding dropouts slide under load even when tensioned properly.

    Harsh ride.

And I only rode it once. But that was more about the end of my love-in with singlespeeds: http://pickled-hedgehog.com/?p=524 -reading that back I think I was traumatised by the experience!

    440mm a-c, 55mm offset, I think that’s what they are anyway 😉

Offset on the RC31 is 41mm – the Singular fork must extend the wheelbase a bit hence why it looks quite balanced.
